A new perspective on blue-state secession

Recent revelations of the seriousness of the “resistance” organizations to Trump highlight a new avenue toward National Divorce. This includes interest from governors Gavin Newsom and JB Pritzker (California & Illinois).

In these leaked recordings from August 13 this year, a former State Dept regime-change operative John Mongan says that Newsom & Pritzker indicated interest in replacing fedgov, ditching the Constitution & creating a new constitution using a third “continental congress” if the GOP crosses red lines. Note that he does not say constitutional convention, because the Constitution says that ratifying any amendment, even from a convention, requires consent of 3/4 of the states.

We listened to the whole meeting. The goal of their riots is to provoke fedgov to act in ways that media can declare makes fedgov illegitimate. This group of top Leftists names ridiculous “red line” excuses to declare fedgov “illegitimate” and replace it extra-constitutionally. This has happened before in 1789, when 11 states replaced the Articles of Confederation, essentially seceding from the 13-state union (Rhode Island & North Carolina followed within 2 years). Some of these red lines have already been crossed by fedgov.  In the leaked audio, Mongan says he did get his memo to these governors. Not just staff – the governors themselves, who were interested.

At a minimum, governors could use this possibility as leverage to threaten the Senate that if the Senate doesn’t remove Trump, they’ll declare fedgov illegitimate, adopt a new constitution (with no Senate, no electoral college), & create a new government.

Mongan says that dispensing with the federal government (or at least GOP-controlled parts of it) shouldn’t be branded as “secession,” but governors “would need to start making plans now for what functions of [national] government they would have to assume, how they would coordinate with each other, how they would make outreach to foreign governments” in order to “wall off these [federal] illegitimate individuals, and keep on trying to run the country or at least parts of the country.”

But if blue states want to recognize an alternate federal government with an alternate constitution, obviously red states will not follow their lead. We consider this the ideal outcome, because it would free red states from the terrible voters of blue states, so we can avoid demographic, moral, and fiscal bankruptcy. Admittedly, their plans carry far more risk of bloodshed than negotiated unilateral declarations of peaceful state independence following a referendum, which we promote. But we’re convinced that National Divorce is the only way to preserve civilization on this continent, so we’ll take what we can get.

Moments later in the meeting, Paul Zeitz says the Democratic Party (DNC) itself is also working on a plan on how to react if they think Republicans go too far. I wonder if the DNC is as secessionist & anti-constitutional as this group’s plans?

This group is a new one called RAD, but it’s officially designated to do this kind of work for UDA (United Democracy Alliance), which is huge. The UDA is an umbrella group for every protest group, such as the HUGE group called Indivisible, and 50501, etc, and every supposedly “nonpartisan” dialogue group such as Braver Angels and other NGOs controlling hundreds of millions of dollars. It also includes the military veterans groups who try to convince active duty to ignore orders that aren’t “democratic,” such as NSL4A (National Security Leaders for America), which got 6 current US Senators to say as much last year on camera.

In the meeting, former USAID regime-change operative Danielle Reiff says that she explained to retired rear admiral Michael E Smith, the head of NSL4A, that that the whole UDA has tasked RAD with figuring out how to turn riots into a new constitution, or at least “structural reform” in that direction imposed by riots. Here’s the whole Aug 13 2026 meeting where it becomes obvious & explicit. This meeting was revealed this week by DataRepublican, who this week began slowly releasing bits of a huge trove of leaked data from UDA. She’s already revealed that UDA also includes a certain retired brigadier general.

We don’t know how “moderate” Democrats or the establishment as a whole feel about all this now, but these Leftists have hope that they’ll come along if UDA manipulates conditions a little better than happened in 2020 (BLM/Antifa riots, lockdowns), with support from regime media.

A new scenario for RW secessionists

Polls show that most blue-state voters aren’t in favor of secession per se. But when the economy tanks, the demand for socialism will be so strong that they’ll demand a new constitution and implement it. But red states won’t join in.

If there are enough conservative politicians in fedgov to ignore such demands that year, then blue states will adopt a new constitution and a new, alternate fedgov. This leaves red states with the USA.

If there aren’t enough conservative politicians in fedgov that year, then red states are forced to secede to avoid the new constitution implemented extra-constitutionally by the current Dem POTUS/Congress. Maybe some red states are willing to let their boomers be plundered (mostly white families and the inheritances white Millennials are expecting) and fedgov become a 1-party country with no Senate, no 2nd Amendment, no electoral college, PR & DC statehood, reparations, and open borders written into the new constitution.

But we’re certain not every state will go along with it. Once Texas or Louisiana create the precedent, neighboring red states will follow, and few red states would be foolish enough not to join.

This is new because the red-state secession movement will no longer be about why we should leave. It becomes more about refusing to compromise with blue-state demands for a new constitution. We will argue we can get along without them, so let them part from us. In this case, we will promote a refusal to prioritize the Union over what’s left of the Constitution – to refuse to care about blue-state threats to secede if they don’t get their way. The Left will provide the energy. We only need to encourage the red states to stiffen their spine and refuse to change. We don’t need to provide momentum, only inertia or friction.

Soft secession

Last year, Democrats made articles about “soft secession” viral. These really weren’t about secession, but any legal way, short of nullification, for state governments to ignore or replace various fedgov decisions & powers. Blue-state governors have been trying to implement this as much as possible, because their party’s base demands it.

CALEXIT

Polling in California reached 50% in favor of secession immediately after the 2016 election of Trump, but turned strongly against it when it became clear that Trump was obeying the federal judges who blocked his every move.  Delaware usually polls better than California on secession. Hawaii’s secession movement is politically self-defeating because it only embraces ethnic Hawaiian natives, and it polled low in 2022 when a Democrat was president. Landlocked states should be asked about seceding in groups, rather than alone, and “peaceful secession” polls much better than “secession.”

ICI’s polls are the gold standard for this issue in California. In June 2025, they found 44% of Californians would vote for a ballot measure for peaceful, legal secession—but 54% would vote against.

But this number would be higher if Californians thought that secession was constitutional, likely to remain peaceful, and not chud-coded. We know this because unlike red staters, Californians do believe that their state would be better off out of the Union. This is because Hollywood has told them their whole lives that they’re the high-status pretty people, and red-staters are deplorable chuds. News media shows them that their team is always right because they’re the adults in the room, and red-staters are dumb.

ICI’s poll showed Californians think secession is too hard.

Conclusion

This is where we return to UDA’s plan to use riots to create a new constitution. It won’t be thought of as secession. It will simply be a consequence of red states’ refusal to abandon the Constitution. California won’t be the only blue state to push for this. To help this become a reality, we should strengthen the secession movements in red states so that red states know they don’t have to choose Union over civilization. If we strengthen these movements, we increase the chance that all red states will be free of the blue states, no matter whether these Leftists are successful or not. To be clear, we will continue to focus on helping red states in the Gulf of America get secession on the ballot.

Please vote. You need Republicans in state office to prevent your state from falling for Leftist propaganda. And Republicans in DC so red states can keep the flag and the dollar.
