Twelve and half more Illinois counties voted on separating from Cook County. This brings the total to 45.5, all of which have voted in favor (averaging 73% in favor). There are only 29 counties in our most expansive proposed split map that haven’t voted. Two of them vote Democrat. Three counties that have voted in the northwest weren’t even included in our proposal because they don’t vote as Republican as Missouri or Indiana, and we don’t expect Illinois would want to let a swing state (Iowa) to have them. So far, it appears Illinois probably won’t be interested in letting any state have any of these, until its state public employee pension system collapses due to underfunding.

Only 15 counties haven’t yet voted that might join Kentucky, according to our most expansive map.
